Nice to meet you

I’m Ben, founder of Adsum Group.

I started my working career in the Army, commissioning into the Royal Tank Regiment in 2014 where I spent 6 years as a tank commander, while also having the opportunity to specialise in Counter Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Radiological warfare.

I loved my time in the military and was awarded a Chief of the General Staff Commendation for work I undertook as part of the response force in the Salisbury Nerve Agent attack back in 2018. When I left I always say it's because "I stopped having fun" and was ready for whatever the next challenge would be.

I joined the NHS in Norfolk, and focussed my work on Health Inequalities in Rural & Coastal areas, leading several big ticket items for the region with appearances at national conferences for both Health Inequalities and Innovation projects.

During this time I set up my own business focussed around my two dogs Albus & Pidge. The learning curve from starting at literally level zero and building it up has been fantastic.

While I was working my way through the set up, I ended up having a few conversations with friends who it turns out were interested in setting up their own business as well. And before I knew it I was helping them get their ideas off the ground and moving forwards, and I absolutely loved it!

Experiences have shaped everything I do. Not just the work ones, not just the big "Life-Changing" moments, but every little thing. And thats how Adsum Group was founded.

Why "Adsum"? In the Royal Tank Regiment every tank is given a name relating to a tank from WWI, and as part of AJAX Squadron my tank was called "ADSUM". Adusm in Latin means "To be able to" and I thought it was fitting for my ethos; getting people and businesses moving forward again.

From there, I undertook the Barefoot Coaching course, a world-renowned course, to help learn a few more tools & techniques and to reinforce the work I had already been doing with clients.

I live in Norfolk with my partner Olivia and our two dogs Albus & Pidge (who are really stars of the show) and spend my days off in the garden fighting weeds, at the squash court, Norfolk beaches or when I'm very lucky at the odd ski slope or two!
